Atlanta DUPR Moneyball: February

What

A fixed-partner doubles Pickleball tournament for advanced to elite recreational Pickleball players.

  • Format: round robin followed by playoff games
  • Rating: scores will be submitted to DUPR
  • Prizes: Cash awards per team of
    – $400 for gold,
    – up to $200 for silver, $100 for bronze based on number of entries per bracket
  • Guarantee 4 games.

  • Saturday, Feb 3 and Sunday, Feb 4, 2024, 9 am – 5 pm (see Detail Information section below)

  1. Find a partner and have your partner’s name and email ready.
  2. Setup a DUPR account at mydupr.com and have your DUPR ID ready.
  3. Join Atlanta DUPR Pickleball.

By singing up for this tournament, you are agreeing to the Detail Information and Detail Rules below.

When

  • Registration deadline is Jan 31, 2024.
  • Start time will be confirmed by email on or before Feb 1, 2024.
  • This tournament could be rescheduled for unforeseen conditions (e.g., unsafe weather conditions). A possible reschedule option is the weekend of Feb 10 and 11.
    Feb The amount of time of each bracket is around 4 hours.

Where

  • DO use Civic Center address at 548 S Marietta Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060, or search for Cobb Civic Center (not Larry Bell Park) on the map.
  • DO NOT use Larry Bell Park address at 592 Fairground St, Marietta, GA 30060 for your driving direction.
  • The courts are located near Cobb Civic Center parking lot.

Registration

  • A player must
    • have a DUPR ID (located in your DUPR account profile)
    • be a member of Atlanta DUPR Pickleball club for us to submit your scores to DUPR
    • have your partner’s name, DUPR ID, and email.
  • Each partners must sign up separately, and both partners should sign up around the same time.
  • A team registration is completed when both partners are registered. If a team registration is incomplete, other players can take your spot.

Detail Rules

Bracket and Games

  • The average team rating must be at or below the bracket rating. For example,
    a) (4.12+3.82)=3.97 is qualified for 4.0 bracket
    b) (4.12+3.92)=4.02 is over qualified for 4.0 bracket.
  • The rating is based on the average DUPR rating of team partners.
  • Please contact saun@atlantadupr.com before registering if you do not have DUPR rating.
  • If you do not have a DUPR rating, please plan to play in our DUPR round robin matches or Nickajack Monthly Classic (see https://atlantadupr.com).
  • This tournament is age and gender neutral because DUPR is age and gender neutral.
  • The games are self-refereed.
  • Tournament organizer reserves the right to 1) reassign brackets, 2) change game format, 3) change game points.

Games Format

Fee

Refund

  • Registration fee refund deadline is Friday, Jan 26, 2024, 6 pm.
  • There is a $15 administrative fee for a refund.
  • Payment processing fee is non-refundable.
  • No refund will be given after Friday, Jan 26, 2024, 6 pm.

Minimum Teams

  • Each bracket has minimum of 6 teams. When there are less than 6 teams for a bracket, players have the option of
    a) use registration fee as credit for the next tournament, or
    b) get a refund for registration fee. Payment processing fee is non-refundable.

Unforeseen Conditions

  • Rescheduling: In the event of rescheduling due to unforeseen conditions, such as rain, credit will be given for future tournament.
  • Personal Reasons: In the event of personal unforeseen conditions, such as injuries,
    1) credit will be given to an alternate player (see Transfer section),
    2) if no alternate player is available, both partners will be given credit for a future tournament.

Transfer

  • Registration fee transfer deadline is Thursday, Feb 1, 2024, 12 pm.
  • A player is able to arrange to have an alternate player to take over the registration before the transfer deadline.
  • The fee reimbursement carries out between the players (outside of tournament registration). The tournament organizer will withdraw one player, and add the alternate player without involving payment transaction(s).
  • Please email saun@atlantadupr.com for transfer requests. Please include the bracket, names, email addresses, and DUPR IDs of both players.
