Round Robin

Atlanta DUPR Round Robin Rotating-Partner Format

The rotating-partner round robin format includes two rounds of round robin play.

Grouping & Setup

Players are grouped based on their skill level into groups of 4 or 5. Each group plays on one court, following a round robin schedule. Scores are recorded on a scoresheet for each group.

How It Works

In each round, players rotate to play against different partners according to the round robin schedule. The scores and point differentials of each game are recorded on the scoresheet. At the end of the event, Atlanta DUPR Pickleball organizers will submit the scores to dupr.com.

Round 1
  • At the end of the first round, the total point differential for each player is calculated.
  • The player with the highest point differential moves up one court, while the player with the lowest point differential moves down one court.
Round 2
  • The two players from Round 1 on this court who move up to a higher court and down to a lower court are replaced by two players from Round 1 who are moving into this court.
  • Players continue to rotate with (and against) other players based on the round robin schedule.

Score Recording

  • After each game, the losing team records the scores and point differentials.
  • The winning team checks the scores.
  • All players are responsible for verifying the scores on the scoresheet.
  • Submitted scores will be final and will not be changed once they match the scoresheet.

Event Requirements

  • Arrive early to warm up.
  • Games start promptly at the event’s scheduled time (e.g., 8:30 am, 9:30 am, 6:30 pm).
  • Arriving within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time (e.g., 8:25 am, 8:55 am, 6:25 pm) may be considered a no-show.
  • Players are required to stay for both rounds, typically playing 6 to 8 games.

Rule Adjustments

  • Atlanta DUPR Pickleball may adjust the game format or score submission process to maintain rating accuracy or address logistical needs.
  • If the rating difference between two players exceeds 0.5 and there are more than two unrated players in a game, the scores may not be submitted.
  • Event formats, such as the number of points or games played, may be adjusted during the event.
